How do I buy something?

The unique thing about Collector Connector is the two potential ways of buying things:

a) If what you're looking for is currently available for sale here on the website or in a future Auction:
There will be a detailed description and photos all prepared by us (so they are consistent and unbiased).
You can visit and personally inspect goods for sale if you wish, or ask for additional details.
If you like the item, either buy now or bid in the Auction.

b) If what you're looking for is not currently available, then:
Search the database for the item you wish to buy.
On the item's page, click the Place a Wanted Ad button and suggest the amount you might be willing to pay.
Your wanted ad appears on the site and other collectors are alerted that a buyer is waiting, hopefully tempting one to sell.
When the item turns up, we photograph and list it, and alert you, and sales proceed as above.

The item I want to buy isn't in the database. What do I do?

Collector Connector is ever-growing... If you are looking for something for which we haven't yet made a page, simply send us a message with as much detail as possible so that we can create the item page for your advert, to track down that elusive piece for your collection.

Can I view items in person?

Yes. Unlike ebay etc., everything on offer is available to view at our premises, so you can check it out before buying or bidding. If you visit to view, of course you may drop off things to sell at the same time.

Is the buying process anonymous?

Completely. We never reveal a buyer's details to a seller, unless for some reason the parties wish to make contact.

Better still, unlike ebay etc. at no time is the name or address of buyer revealed to seller, thus fully protecting your privacy.

Note: to qualify for the 25% auction discount you need to have paid for 6 month's membership within a year of the auction date - you can pay this in advance - i.e. you can pay 6 months 'up-front' membership in January, and that will qualify you for the discount at January's auction and going forward.
